It's Labor Day, and while I've been in the midst of preparing for our biggest craft show of the year, I took a break this afternoon to just appreciate what's around me.
The very best way to describe our home is...lived in. With three boys and a dog, we have our fair share of wear and tear, dirt and grime, spills and stains. But I wouldn't have it any other way.
I made this littler ampersand sign using a metal magnet, chalkboard paint and scrap trim.
We have a lot of old framed family photos around the house, including this gallery wall in the diningroom.
We recently painted our formal livingroom white, but gave the wall of french doors a coat of grey (almost the reverse of every other room in our house, where the scheme is grey walls with white trim).
I recently worked up the nerve to put a white slipcover over our livingroom couch. Remember the aforementioned wear, tear, dirt, grime, etc. etc.? Yeah. The goal, as all white slipcover advocates will tell you, is to throw it in the wash whenever it gets something on it. And I gotta say, so far so good. And I'm loving the crisp clean look.
So that's a current sneak peek around our house. Look around your own spaces and share your favorites with us on Facebook!
